Background

Welcome to MedicElle! My name is Ellen and I am currently a UK medical student. Like many others, I searched the internet high and low for information about what life is like at medical school, but I always felt that something was missing for me.

I was diagnosed with pulmonary lymphangiectasia as a young child leaving me with lymphatic abnormalities around my body. Growing up I always knew that I wanted to be a doctor. Yes, the age-old cliché, I wanted to give something back to the profession that had saved my life.

The Vision

Throughout our lives, we are all likely to experience periods of ill physical and/or mental health. Doctors are not immune from illness.

I would like this platform to encompass my love for studying, self-care and lifestyle medicine.

Fundamentally, we should all strive to look after ourselves to look after others.
